Jean Elliot, B.A. M.Ed. LPC NCC RPT, is one of the counselors at Ocean Sun Counseling. She is a registered play therapist, and also works with adolescents and adults. Jean provides individual pretrial intervention services at OSC.
Jean is an accomplished therapist who believes in her work, and the patients she counsels.
Jean received her Masters Degree in Education in the specialty of Community Based Counseling in 1996 from Clemson University in South Carolina. Jean also holds a Bachelors of the Arts degree in Psychology from Clemson.
She has held many roles in mental health practices, including Mental Health Counselor, VP/ Secretary, Clinical Director, Assessment/ Admission Counselor, and Therapist/ Case Manager.
Jean is very interested in play therapy for children and has had formal training and also various attended conferences and workshops including “Child Centered Play Therapy for Children With Aggressive and Relationship Resistant Behaviors”, “Child Centered Group Play Therapy: What It Looks Like”, “The Art of Relationships In Play Therapy: Deeper Issues”, “Play Therapy With Families and Children in a Diverse World”, and “Play Based Interventions for Children and Adolescents With Autism Spectrum Disorders”, as well as “Using Art and Play With Children Who Have Developmental Disabilities”.
When not at work, Jean enjoys rooting on for her alma mater’s (Clemson) football team, and spending time with her son.
